Yet, as wonderful as all those things were, it was my time spent in the presence of God that truly brought restoration. I arrived carrying the dead weight of my burdens, tucked away like luggage I couldn’t put down. Worn out and weary, I longed for refreshment in the dry and thirsty places of my soul. Then, on Sunday morning, as the cool mountain air brushed my face, the Holy Spirit began to move in my heart. One by one, the Lord began naming my burdens—fear, uncertainty, unforgiveness—and with each one spoken, a leaf fell gently from a nearby tree, seven in all. In that sacred moment, I knew the falling leaves symbolized the release of my burdens. One by one, I laid them at the cross and received instead the precious promises of Christ. I came into Restoration Weekend heavy and worn, but I left renewed, recharged, and restored. I highly encourage you to attend a Restoration Weekend yourself—and then simply allow God to do the rest. |
